We are excited to announce a fabulous new event for Rotorua – A seven course degustation dinner.
On Saturday 30 October a group of local Rotorua Plunket Volunteers are putting on a 7 course Degustation Dinner with award winning Chef, Bruce Gordon Thomsan.
Plunket is raising $1 million for a new building to bring together both clinical and community services to provide critical help to whanau.
In the Rotorua district, Plunket engages with 3,249 tamariki under five years old and their whānau and this includes 670 new-borns in the last year. Out of the current buildings we provide both clinical services such as access to nurses and health workers plus community services such as support groups, parenting education support, wahakura wānanga and playgroups. Currently Plunket services are provided primarily from two standalone buildings. The main building requires extensive investment to eliminate Health & Safety concerns as well as addressing deferred maintenance. Providing Plunket services from multiple facilities is not a sustainable solution. It leaves staff and clients disconnected and does not support a joined-up approach with services wrapped around our clients. The main building is well passed its use by date and is in need of a complete rebuild. Through support from Generation Homes we have been able to keep the cost low for the building which will house all Plunket Nurses, Kāiawhina and Community Services staff for a range of whānau led services.
So come along and support us and all while enjoying an amazing dining experience.
